4.0 Problem Based Activity

This case study will introduce you some issues that the Porcupine Caribou Management Board (PCMB) has to deal with to fulfill their co-management mandate. The PCMB is an eight-member board established in 1985 to provide advice and make recommendations to governments and traditional users regarding the conservation and management of the Porcupine Caribou Herd. In this activity, you will work in groups to make your own recommendations and comments on other groups’ recommendations on a co-management scenario.

Scenario – Oil and Gas Development and Migrating Caribou

Your instructor will provide details regarding the scenario.

**Please Note: This is a hypothetical scenario intended to encourage students to consider the complexities inherent to the co-management process**
